Position: Biomedical Equipment Technician

Status: Non Exempt

Location:  Houston, TX

Reports To: Director of Biomedical Services, Lead Biomedical Technician or Location Team Leader

General Description of Duties:

Maintain USME rental equipment by performing necessary repair, periodic maintenance and operational verification procedures. Performs general operational verification procedures, periodic maintenance procedures and repairs in accordance with Manufacturer and/or USME recommendations.  Assure that every piece of equipment passes inspection within JCAHO guidelines and USME specifications.  All procedures will be properly documented using equipment maintenance reports in company software program.Processing of paperwork and the performance of an initial inspection on new equipment.Authorize parts required for repair and periodic maintenance procedures.  The technician has the authority to request parts up to the amount of $200.  Any part which has a cost of more than $200 must be approved by a supervisor.Responsible for care and inventory of tool assignment.

Other Duties may include:

On site equipment repairs, ordering of disposable and accessory items, maintenance and calibration scheduling of test equipment and organization and cleaning of work areas.Performing customer service functions and on-call responsibility as needed by individual branch office.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

AA or 2 year certificate in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Engineering.An average GPA of 2.5 or above during technical school.An aptitude for understanding the operation of electronic, electromechanical and pneumatic devices.

Expected Performance:

Works independently in repair, periodic maintenance and operational verification of medical equipment.

Position:  Medical Equipment Delivery and Customer Service 

Status: Non Exempt

Locations:  Houston, TX / Austin, TX / Scott, LA

Reports To: Director of Biomedical Services, Lead Biomedical Technician or Location Team Leader

Job Description:

The Medical Equipment Delivery / Customer Service representative must provide excellent customer service to company’s customers through delivery, service and maintenance of medical equipment.

General Description of Duties:

  • Responsible for delivery, pickup and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies to healthcare institutions
  • Responsible for completion of company paperwork and electronic data entry
  • Responsible for using company computer system to complete customer orders and manage inventory
  • Shipping and receiving of equipment and supplies
  • 24 hour on call availability based on the needs of the location
  • Maintain a professional attitude toward all customer contacts and company employees
  • Maintain a neat appearance including the wearing of company uniform
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Valid drivers’ license and good driving record

Abilities and Skills:

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to professionals in the healthcare industry
  • Ability to work multiple shifts
  • Able to read and write in English and perform math calculations
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Able to move 150 pounds
